Oy, put the kettle on!

By the sounds of it, mixing flatmates and food can often give weird results. Minnie from somewhere in Australia left this comment overnight about what her flatmate used the kettle for....

My (ex)flatmate used to cook 2-minute noodles by boiling the kettle with the noodles inside it. The worst part was he wouldn’t clean the kettle afterwards and there would be all these cooked noodle strands stuck to the element and the sides. Gross!

I would never have thought of using the kettle that way - that is really disgusting, especially if they never cleaned it. And I'm guessing that tea just doesn't taste the same...

This is a perfectly legitimate way to cook noodles. You are being outrageously fascistic.

LOL!

This reminds me of the guy I used to live with that would turn the toaster on its side and use it to cook fish fingers...

My co-worker did that - I guess it shows on the box that the kettle came in that you could use it for that. But she didn't clean it out and like 2 days later, guess who found that nasty, slimy remains that would not come out... yes, me. EEEEWWWW. The guilty culprit did fess up and apologize after a group email I sent

I lived with a girl who used her Breville sandwich maker to cook everything, including frozen chicken nuggets, garlic bread and sausages

I know of a guy who at one stage was living in a boarding house with a shared kitchen.

One morning he got up to make himself a cup of coffee before work. As he poured the boiling water into his cup out popped a hot dog from the electric kettle. Turns out one of the other boarders had taken a fancy to this method of cooking.
