Your flatmates partner

Something that I've always tried to steer clear of is living with a couple. I just think that the dynamics are all wrong. But what if the flatmate that you live with becomes part of a couple that enjoys being at your home more than their partners?
What do you do if the "new flatmate" starts taking liberties and using your stuff, eating your food and all that stuff. Is it rude to ask them to pay towards the running of the household? What do you think? Share your experiences below or send them in!

RIGHT AFTER MOVING IN WITH MY HUSBAND (THEN BOY FRIEND) HIS FRIEND AND CO-WORKER WAS GETTING KICKED OUTTA HIS PARENT'S HOUSE. WE HAD A SPARE ROOM AND DECIDED TO LET HIM MOVE IN. HE WAS NICE, CLEAN AND DID NOT DO DRUGS, WHICH IS IMPORTANT TO US. WELL, ABOUT A MONTH AFTER HE MOVED IN, HE ASKED US IF WE WOULD BE OKAY WITH "A GREAT FRIEND" OF HIS COMMING TO VISIT. WE OF COURSE WERE. IT TURNS OUT THAT HE HAD MET THE GIRL ONLINE ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE HE MOVED IN WITH US AND THEY HAD ARRANGED TO MEET! SHE MOVED IN WITHOUT ASKING US, AND SHE DID DRUGS. SHE GOT HIM DOING DRUGS TOO! THEY WOULD DO DRUGS ALL DAY AND EAT ALL OF THE FOOD AND LEAVE HEAPS OF DISHES AROUND. THEN HE WOULD GET ANGRY OVER THE SMALLET THING AND START THROWING THINGS AND BREAKING THINGS (MOSTLY MINE OR MY BOY FRIEND'S THINGS!) AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS OF THIS, I TOLD MY BOYFRIEND IT WOULD BE ME OR THEM... WE ENDED UP MOVING AND HAVE LEARNED THAT ROOMATES ARE SIMPLY NOT FOR US!

I have the problem of living with a 19 yr old guy, with a 17 yr old gf which means she is CONSTANTLY there. I put up with it for 5 months, her eating food, using electricity, using my makeup, puting her name on my stuffasking me if she can move in, and stating that she deserved a drawer in the bathroom because "she has and uses more make up then me, and uses the bathroom more" (I don't need 2 inches of make up on my face, nor will i spend $300 on make up a month). I finally cracked it when i found out she had been in my room. And she had read my mobile, and had written back to that sms. I told the flatmate he should find somewhere else. He knew he was on a good thing because we live in a beautiful apartment and we get on well, so she doesnt come around much. But this is only been for a week, we will see how long it will last.

fuck this is my current situation.
My flatmate is ok but her boyfriend wont go away. shes 21 and hes 26 and im 19...........and to top it off he is a doctor that earns like a sh*tload more than all of us. He comes over all the time and eats MY food, pisses on the seat, leaves skiddies in the toilet and they never go to his house, bcos hes a tigharse who has no food or furniture. he wakes up really early every morning and he sets off the smoke alarm making f*cking toast and this tosser is meant to be 26.........a friend of hers recently asked if he was an exchange student hahah. He is a human leech.......and never contributes ANYTHING. where as my bf cooks and cleans and even brings over toilet paper and we are both 19, when is it time to tell these two to grow the f*ck up? and they take over my tv and dont turn stuff off properly (oven , heater etc)...i want to move....i need to move.....but the lease isnt up for another 4ish months. And he is rubbing off on her, she doesnt do the dishes or wash anything, or take the bin out or clean anything. cant wait until i live by myself again.

I've been quite lucky with my housemates, only little upsets, so I am going to tell everyone about my boyfriend's housemates instead.

My boyfriend lives with 4 other guys (all working) until recently when a girl who was a student moved into their spare room. My boyfriend was a bit worried about her fitting in with a bunch of guys but he needn't have worried. She's now dating one of the other guys in the house and they are always getting it on in her room which is right next door to my boyfriends.. and to say it politely, they are not very quiet (and the walls are thin!).

My boyfriend also told me that one day she decided to do all her washing at once (about 8 loads of clothes) and one of the other guys just wanted to wash a few shirts for work the next day. So he asked her if he could after the next load and she said ok. Next thing he knows the load has finished, he hears her go to the washing machine and another load starts up.

I'm lucky that my landlord is quite picky about who he lets in his house so all my housemates have been easy to live with. I could not put up with something like that!

I moved in with my boyfriend and his friend. The friend was a complete wanker right from the start -- the night we moved in, we'd recieved a noise complaint from the body corporate after we came home from the pub. So what does he do? Turns the music up even louder, til the whole apartment was shaking... ! So the cops turned up, he slams the door in thier face and told them to fuck off. This guy is actually a grown man-25 years of age.

Then he comes upstairs, starts yelling at my boyfriend that it was all his "girlfriend's fault". In front of me.

The next week,we go out again. At the bar, he threw a $20 note in my boyfriend's face and ordered him to get a drink. On the way home he stops in at the corner store and starts stealing chips and lollies. I was like, hello, are you 15?

The lease runs out. He goes to the RTA and signs a phoney stat dec claiming my boyfriend had authorised him to take his share and never actually gave the $900 back. We are now having him "investigated" and hope he ends up in big shit because I hate him.
